The Centro Social Cultural y Deportivo Hebraica A.C., which is the Jewish Community Center of Caracas, Venezuela, is in charge of organizing the Festival Internacional de Cine Judío Caracas, Venezuela. From a closed community project in 2007, we have grown to become an open showcase to the general public, becoming part of the more than 100 Jewish film festivals around the world. Its mission is to share, through the magic of movies, the diversity of Jews and Judaism; the traditions, culture and way of life and, basically, to expose the difference of the Jew’s historic and contemporary experiences. Its objectives are to provide the audience with the most ample selection of films, recent or classic, that illustrate the Jewish experience, including Israeli filmmaking, together with the personal appearance of some of the professionals involved in the works shown in our festival, in addition to panel discussions and meetings.
